Joe and I are on a cleaning frenzie trying to get this apartment presentable for my best friend @alipstein to come and visit ๐Ÿ˜ธ to the ones who live at home with your parents- thank them for cleaning bc it’s damn hard work, especially to clean up after someone else and help them out with cleaning too!! I now super appreciate my mom for maintaining a beautiful clean home. ๐Ÿก

Much #latergram of a giant zucchini my dad grew on his garden. Never seen anything like it!! ๐ŸŒฑ so I was thinking this morning. Since being around a lot of people who chose to eat animals, I’ve noticed that I can appreciate 2 different kinds of meat-eating people- (1) the person who isn’t afraid to admit that they love the taste of flesh and they don’t care if an animal dies for them- these people are at least being honest and aren’t trying to make themselves feel better. They understand and acknowledge that they are being selfish, but respect you for choosing to not eat meat. And (2) the people who genuinely are interested in the lifestyle and are not threatened by the idea of it. They usually instantly embrace the idea of starting to cut back on animal products, kind of like they were waiting for someone to allow them to. Were are so conditioned through media and social influences into thinking that we must eat a certain way, but some people deep down inside do realize a conflict of interest. You can’t be an animal lover, yet still eat animal products, and these sort of people are already starting to catch on. But of course you always end up running into the third type of person who I can’t stand- someone who will grandstand how flawed veganism is/ grandstand how they eat “humanly” slaughtered animals who are organic and local. These are the type of people who say you are pushing your beliefs on others just bc someone asked you why you are vegan and yet they shove a steak on your face and think it’s funny… See the hypocrisy there? How do I deal with these people? I don’t. I don’t even try to respond to their embarrassingly ill-informed comments, I just nod my head with my lips together and my eyebrows up during the long lecture they feel they need to give me. Sometimes I’ll just repeat the same words multiple times in a conversation- “ok, but personally I chose not to eat animals” or “I’ve been doing this for 2 years and am healthier and happier than ever, that’s enough proof I need”. The thing is, I’m not actively out to change anyone’s eating. I’m just here as a guide if you want to eat a plant based diet and as an example of a healthy fit vegan โœŒ๏ธ

Been tagged by @dateswithlove to #stopdropandselfie and tagged by @veganconnor to share #whatimdoingnow (also tagged by a few others, but I can’t remember right now, sorry!) I’m watching Hercules on the Disney Junior channel on a Friday night waiting for joe to come back with delicious Garbonzo (straight veggie platter with a pita) I got burnt out this week at work, and have work to do other the weekend, but I’m still determined to enjoy my weekend by bumming out and relaxing ๐Ÿ˜œ

Made rustic high carb vegan apple pies for joe and me on this cuddly rainy afternoon โ˜บ๏ธโค๏ธ of course when I surprised him with it he didn’t feel like it at all ๐Ÿ˜’ crust: honey dates, 2 fired figs, and dry oatmeal. Apple filling: apples, coconut sugar, and water stewed over the stove. I also boiled down the excess water to make a caramel topping ๐ŸŽ
